Let's Get This Straight. ~Alan Haffa
Obama is a socialist and communist and you too!
I'm having trouble keeping up with the demands coming from the right. We have heard that Obama is a socialist, fascist, and now a Communist. We still have people who are fixated on her birth certificate. Is it any wonder that the government seems disorganized?
It would be helpful if we understand our conditions.I can write a song later on fascism and communism on the other, but suffice it to say they are not the same ideologies and that for the most part, they are opposed ideologies: that is to other words, they are not fluent in the same person or government. Instead, they have generally gone to war with each other. He feels really sloppy from the right to confuse these ideologies as the other Great Big Evil, that is our president.
So first look like socialism you have heard this term bandied about much in the discussion of health.Obama, we are told, is a socialist, as the law on health care. Do these people know what socialism is? Do your grandparents or parents receive Social Security? This is socialism. Did they get health care benefits under Medicare? This is socialism. Have you or someone else in your family has already been dismissed from their job and collected unemployment? This is socialism?
Have your children or grandchildren attend public schools or public college or university? This is socialism. Do you support the U.S. military? They are the organization's most socialist American public support for housing, health care, community centers, you name it-that Uncle Sam provides. This is socialism. How about police and fire? Socialism. Roads? Socialism
So please do not tell me to fear socialism, unless you want to privatize all these other services. There is a reason to provide certain services in the public sector. Firstly, things like education (and health care, I would say) are so critical to the "pursuit of happiness" that they are constitutional rights.Without good public schools, the American dream would be limited to the few who could afford it.
A second reason is to provide services that the private sector can not provide certain essential services to all at an affordable cost. It is the state of health today. When you have millions of people who can not afford private insurance and when those who have insurance pay higher premiums regular two figures and companies must begin to eliminate it, then you have a real problem .
