Foster Family Information

In California, as in all 50 states, a system has been established to care for children who have been abandoned, or removed from their families because of abuse or neglect.   Foster parents are recruited and trained to provide homes for these thousands of children across our country.

Alannah Foster Family agency was formed as a private not-for-profit agency to find families where these neglected and homeless children may live and be loved and cared for.   Many of the children who need homes are healthy lovely children.   But some of these children have developmental disabilities, behavior problems, or medical conditions.

Our goal is to find special families for these children so they can become healthy happy individuals living in our communities.

Alannah has a team approach to assisting our families and the children placed in our care.   Following a comprehensive training and certification process (15 hours) our social workers are responsible for representing each child with the placing agencies, and monitoring the care and treatment of the children assigned to their caseloads.   They will coordinate with the school, and with arranging medical treatments or other therapies that a child may require. If foster parents have questions or need assistance their social worker is available to provide individual care and support.
